Lizards
The true lizards form the family Lacertidae. All over Europe this family is presented, some widely distributed species are the Common Wall Lizard, the Sand Lizard, the Viviparous Lizard and the Western Green Lizard.
Slow Worms (family Anguidae) form a family of lizards often lacking legs, giving them the appearance of small snakes. There are species who remained small limbs or who lost their front limbs but do have hind limbs. They mainly feed on worms, snails, and slugs and rather slow insects or their larvae.
